Penn Hockey Community Service - Oct. 23

By PHC, 10/07/21, 4:45PM EDT

Hello Penn Hockey Players and Families!

Community service is a great way for our players to get out into our community and serve the local organizations that do so much good in our area every day. Not only is it great for our community, but it is also a wonderful experience for our players as teammates to bond, work together and develop a further sense of volunteerism that they will take with them further on in life. This year we will have 4 or 5 community service events that will be scheduled for our players, some will be optional and others will be mandatory. Our first community service event is optional and will be with the 525 Foundation and their DEA Take Back Day on October 23rd. Since the Varsity team does have an away game in Ft. Wayne that afternoon, we are requesting that the Varsity players interested in signing up volunteer from 10am-12pm and the JV players volunteer from 12pm-2pm, of course the JV players are able to volunteer the whole time if they would like. The time slots are not listed on the Sign Up Genius form so players, please just arrive at the above scheduled times. We will be located at 2 fire stations and we will need 2 parent volunteers at each location. Please take note of the location and time slot you choose while signing up! The locations are: South Bend Fire # 1 on Michigan and Mishawaka Fire Dept. #4 on Harrison Rd.

            Date: Saturday, October 23rd

            Time: 10am-2pm

Location: South Bend Fire #1 on Michigan St. OR Mishawaka Fire Dept. #4 on Harrison Rd.

For this event our players will be helping to collect prescriptions that people turn in. There will be 2 parents and an officer at each location to ensure safety. Please remember what location you choose to sign up for! If you are a parent volunteer please reach out to me as you will need to pick up supplies for your location and I will give you the details on when to do that.
